The Arizona Governor's Arts Awards has named author Stella Pope Duarte and playrwright James E. Garcia among the nominees for this year's awards
Local artists Stella Pope Duarte, author of several books, and playwright/journalist James E. GarcÃa were among those nominated for the Arizona Governor’s Arts Awards for 2021.
More than 100 artists, art education, art groups, businesses and philanthropists were nominated.
Nominees came from 22 communities statewide. The winners will be announced Friday, March 26 as part of a statewide celebration. The virtual event will be presented by Billie Jo and Judd Herberger.
